Bachelorette Weekend Ideas in Austin, Texas

Coming to Austin for a bachelorette weekend and looking for some unique local fun? You can’t spend all weekend on Dirty Sixth (or at least we don’t recommend it!) So here are some ideas to fill the gaps in between!

Book a Private Dance or Mystical-Themed Party at Minx + Muse!

Minx + Muse is a fiercely feminine playhouse that cultivates self-discovery and empowerment through esoerotic dance, transformative movement, and mystical exploration. And you can book the studio for your own private party, with themes ranging from sexy and playful to soulful and magical! Looking for some provocative fun? Book "The Lioness" party and learn a flirty pole dance routine, or "The Serpent Charmer" and learn a fun, booty-shakin' chair routine! How about something more soulful? Try "Moon Goddess" for slow, sensual stretching in the candle-lit space (hangover class, anyone?!) Thinking something more magical? Then try "The High Priestess" where you will be led in casting a magical love spell!

BYO drinks/food/decoration permitted! Guaranteed to be a memorable bachelorette weekend experience, with lots of cute and envy-worthy social media pics and vids to share at your discretion! Learn more and book here!

Charter a Boat

Charter a boat and catch some sun with ATX Wake Adventures! You can wakeboard, tube, water ski, or just float on a noodle and enjoy lake life in Austin… they’ll even take you to Devil’s Cove if you want to party like it’s MTV Spring Break!

Stroll Along South Congress

Wanna find a cute outfit or Austin souvenir? Spend a couple hours strolling on SoCo! Feathers Boutique has a lust-worthy collection of quality vintage clothing as well as artisan jewelry and gifts. Then check out Prototype Vintage next door for killer retro apparel at very reasonable prices. Up the street, Blackmail has edgy and bewitching clothing, jewelry, and fragrance that are one-of-a-kind and well worth the investment! If you looking for some fancy threads, By George is your spot, or check out The Impeccable Pig for cute clothes that won’t break the bank. And just for the hell of it, make sure you pop into Lucy in Disguise with Diamonds to play in their aisles of kitschy party costumes and clothing! Tesoros Trading Co. has a rad array of souvenirs and gifts, offering folk arts & crafts and traditional items from over 20 countries! To catch a sugar fix, swing by Big Top Candy Shop, self declared as “THE MOST AMAZING CANDY SHOP THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN!” Also, Jo’s Coffee will give you the pick me-up needed to make well into the night, and also has the Austin-famous “i love you so much” graffiti wall, where you should take some social media photos with the bachelorette squad! During your outing, you’ll most definitely pass countless street musicians, as well as a wide array restaurants for feeding time and water holes for drinking time!

Throw Some Axes

Urban Axes are popping up all over the country, so if you haven’t tried it yet, now is your chance (and for real, it’s a TON of fun!) Book a group event and you’ll get your own lane and instruction from an Axpert (hehe) before they break you into teams and run you through an inner group tournament. Oh, and it’s BYO beer and wine and food!

Learn to Two-Step

Head to one of Austin’s best honky tonk bars, The White Horse, on Saturday nights at 7pm and learn how to two-step! The lesson is about an hour, and don’t worry about going stag with your bride tribe: you’ll be rotating partners throughout the lesson. Then stick around after so you can twirl around the floor and practice your new skills with live country band!

Catch an Outdoor Show

Austin is called the Live Music Capital of the World (dayum!), so it seems a no brainer to catch a live show while you’re here. And The Mohawk, Empire Control Room, Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater, and Cheer Up Charlies all have outdoor stages so you can groove under the stars!

Go on a Ghost Tour

Learn about the ghosts and haunted history of Austin by taking an Austin Ghost Tour! There a number of different tour themes, include a Haunted Pub Crawl where they claim “As much as we love spirits–the drinking kind, we love Spirits–the invisible kind even more so… lots of history and storytelling on this tour!"

Gospel Brunch at Stubbs BBQ

If you do Saturday night right, you are going to need a good filling meal (and make your own Bloody Mary bar) to get back your strength on Sunday to wrap up your bachelorette weekend. The gospel choir at Stubb's BBQ is absolutely amazing, and the buffet is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Wear your elastic pants. Seating at 10:30am and 12:30pm.

Chicken Shit Bingo at Little Longhorn Saloon

If you are in town through Sunday, you have to check out this local tradition of Chicken Shit Bingo from 4–8 pm at Little Long Horn Saloon! This is a festive outdoor event, with live country bands playing inside the bar itself, which used to be a farmhouse and is recognizable by it’s chapel-like steeple. Rules are simple: buy a ticket with a number on it, then the chicken is kindly placed in the bingo cage, and whoever has the number it shits on first wins a cash prize!
